Vancouver release notes
The introduction of Vancouver has not only brought in some few features but it has also restored some of BCR Software’s previous features that a large number of clients found very useful. Listed below are the features that were either added or restored to the software and are now available on the Vancouver release.
The ability to use the ‘Enter’ key so that the software cycles through sequential fields on the ‘Vendors’ and ‘Customers’ tabs inside of the item file has been restored.
Statements are now able to print in company order in addition to printing in ID order.
If a user attempts to close a sales order that still has backorders, the software prompts the user to make them aware of the backorders before allowing them to close the sales order.
The system now allows Invoices and Credit Notes to be asssigned identical document numbers with respect to each other.
X-Charge integration has been updated in compliance with upcoming federal regulations.
BCR’s document imaging product has been enhanced to be a full file repository instead of just holding image files.
Various other minor bugs/enhancements have also been addressed in this release.
Utica Release Notes
The introduction of the Utica release has added several new features to the software. Most of these enhancements were specific requests our clients wanted the software to be able to do for them. Every client uses the software in unique ways but some of these enhancements may also be boon in running your day-to-day operations. Below is a list of the changes made available to our clients in the Utica release.
Tortuga Release Notes
The Tortuga release is one of the newest available releases with a couple more features added in. Listed below are those enhancements.
Sparta Release Notes
With the release of Sparta, there have been some interesting new features added to the software that were not a part of previous releases. Below is a list of the enhancements that have been made to BCR Software since the Rome release.
1. Process all year 0 payrolls. The payroll year end process may be run after year 0+1 payrolls have been run. For example, you may run 2005 payrolls prior to the End of Year Processing for 2004.
2. Input Imputed Income items (Payroll Module, General, Add Imputed Income
3. Print and review:
o Liability Report
o Form 941 Worksheet
o SUTA Worksheet
o Earnings Report
4. Backup data
5. If applicable, select “Leave Time Rollover” from the Payroll Module, Year End Processing, Leave Time Rollover.
6. Select Year End Closing from Payroll Module, Year End Processing, Year End Closing. This copies selected payroll information to files for W2 & W3 processing and removes year 0 information from the payroll files.
7. Run W2’s and W3 from Payroll Module, Year End Processing, W2/W3.

Steve Backus has 30 years experience selling application software based solutions to small and mid-sized distribution and manufacturing businesses nationwide. His client focus selling style has resulted in a long history of selling clean, reference-able business. He has had the privilege to work closely with some of the best Inventory Management & Business Process Consultants in America (Gordon Graham, Charlie Bodenstab, Fred Taylor, Dan Richmond) Steve is a graduate of Candler School of Theology at Emory University and resides in Dover, Delaware.
Budd Cowan has over 28 years of software sales experience with companies including Eclipse (Activant) for fifteen years, Ultimate Data Systems (SHIMS) for four years. He is well known in the wholesale distribution industry and he has established long relationships with many business owners in the electrical, plumbing, HVAC and industrial markets. Budd has a B.S. degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University and resides in Marietta, Georgia.
BCR has recently enhanced searching for existing documents in the Order Entry module, which will be available in the ‘Tortuga’ release. Searching for documents should now be easier, faster, and give users more options for searching.
